The Hollywood Museum

One of long forgotten and less visited by Los Angeles cool crowed (there are too many tourist around I will not hand out there) is The Hollywood Museum. Located in heart of tourist area, this museum is great place to explore into the Hollywood past.

This remodeled office space of makeup giant Max Factor now is 4 levels museum.

THE GROUND FLOOR

The ground is dedicated to hair colors, they have the Brunette room, the Brownette room, the Redhead room and finally the Brunette room each room is dedicated to 1940/50 actors and actresses from that era.

The ground floor features the vintage room, which has hundrads of photos of old Hollywood landmarks, and some old newspapers dedicated on the rise and fall of Hollywood celebrities. When you look around you will find wall covered with hundreds of autographs obtained by Joe Ackerman aka autograph hound.

THE BASEMENT

The basement is horror movies, you can find different monstors here like, mummies and vampires, etc. When you enter first thing you will see is Elvira, Mistress of the Dark and characters from Dracula. If you explore deeper into basement you will find villains from all ages like Walking Dead or Silence of the Lambs.

THE SECOND FLOOR

The second floor is dedicated to Academy Award nominees, there is real “Oscar” statuette and Golden Globe statuette on that floor as well.

THE THIRD FLOOR

The second floor is dedicated  to the Hollywood iconic costumes. They include costumes from new and old shows.  You should check them all out.
